ABOUT

I’ve been writing for just about as long as I can remember…
Ever since my mom, who was also my homeschool teacher at the time, gave me and my siblings creative writing prompts in elementary school. Since then, my stories have gotten more elaborate (and longer), but they ring true to those scribbled first ideas in 50¢ notebooks in one crucial way—I always have (and still do) love a good story.
These days, I’m writing more than just short stories for school. I’ve written three novels (and counting? I’m sure there will be more) and am on the path to hopefully being traditionally published one of these days. In the meantime, I’m writing about things I find noteworthy on my Substack newsletter of the same name, channeling my writing expertise into helping small businesses tackle their digital content needs through Opaline Digital, and filling up the many empty journals sitting on my bookshelf just waiting to be jammed with new ideas (or frustrations or laments or exclamations).
…and now I’m helping small businesses write and share about what they do!

While I’m not stopping when it comes to pursuing my personal dream of being a traditionally published author, I’ve also stepped into the work of helping small business owners reach their dreams. I launched Opaline Digital, a digital content agency, to help overwhelmed small business owners tackle their content needs—and get results.
I have over ten years of experience creating digital content that moves the needle, including blogs, newsletters, social media graphics, and more. If you’re looking for a partner to help you craft digital content that sparks analog action, I’d love to chat. Drop me a line at [email protected] or visit the Opaline website for more information.
Whether you’re here for the novel and creative writing updates or to learn more about Opaline Digital—welcome! I’m glad you decided to stop by and learn more about me and my work. I hope you’ll subscribe for updates. One of these days, I’m going to have some very exciting news to share when it comes to the publication process; you can count on it!

Some facts about me:
I’m a big tea person—a cup of hot black tea on a cloudy, drizzly day is precisely my cup of tea (with a little bit of honey, of course!
I have a degree in English literature with a minor in creative writing from the University of Colorado.
I have two cats, Cinders and Copper, who are my writing companions and snooze beside me on my desk while I write.
I’ve written blogs and social media content for everything from nonprofits to tattoo parlors to ice cream shops to cleaning services to scholarship organizations to local artisans and even some businesses in between!
My writing has appeared in riverrun, Odyssey, Sleet Magazine, Miss Millennia Magazine, Viewfinder Magazine, Black Dog Review, Vita Brevis, Furtive Dalliance Review, The Adroit Journal, and Scarlet Leaf Review, among others.
I’m a big fan of the Oxford comma—if we work together, I will absolutely be adding it in where it’s needed (because yes, it’s needed, although I know that’s up for debate in some circles).
I’m a big live music person, and often stay up way past my bedtime to travel to Red Rocks to hear a favorite band or enjoy a show at a local dive.
